Ten of the twelve pairs of booties I’m sending to a baby shower for military parents in Alaska. They are knit entirely from scraps I had lying around the house. I figure they are worth $5 each. also this week I used $10 in CVS ECBs to purchase one box of Culturelle probiotic, reg. price $15, on sale for $10, get $10 in ECBs back.

A couple of days ago I went by JC Penney to use that $10 off any $10 purchase coupon they sent a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to purchase just over $10 to keep my out of pocket spending under 10 cents or so.
In the baby clearance section I found an adorable $10 two-piece baby girl outfit for $5.99, a pair of $8 shorts for $1.99, and two $8 boys’ socks for $1.99 each. But when I got to the register I found that the outfit was really $4.97 and the shorts were really 97 cents.
So I needed to buy something worth at least 15 cents to be able to use the coupon. But the very nice person at Penneys had a basket at the register with mismatched things priced at a quarter each. For the purposes of this blog I will only count the pair of baby pants, but I will admit I bought everything in that basket. What can you get for a quarter in this day and age?
I will donate everything the next time the church collects baby things for the local women’s shelter,
Also at CVS I picked up a $6 Old Spice Body Spray (on clearance for $1.59) and two Colgate mouthwashes (one $4, one $6). I used a $2 off Old Spice coupon, 2 $1 off Colgate coupons, and a CVS $2 off any $10 oral care coupon. I used $6 in ECBS to pay for it all and got $5 in ECBs back.

So I stopped by CVS after work today, and the Big Red Coupon Machine came through for me. There was a coupon for $2 off any two CVS lotions and another for $3 off any Revlon cosmetic. I picked up two 3 oz. CVS hand lotions at $1.77 each, and one Revlon nail clipper at $3. There were also some men’s deos on clearance– I found a Dove for $1.37 and two Right Guard for $1.17 each. I used a $1 off Dove for Men coupon and a $2 off 2 Right Guard coupon. Then to finish out the ECBS I would have to use, I picked up 2 travel size CVS baby wipes at $1.19 (second one half price).
So I bought about $23 worth of stuff for $8 in coupons and $4 in ECBs.

So we got 11″ of snow here a couple of days ago, on top of the snow and ice that came down a few days before that. Kids went to school Monday, but school was cancelled Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and they are off for teacher conferences Friday. I haven’t done much shopping.
But Saturday I did get my first $5 in Beauty Buck for the year. And then on Sunday I used them to buy one tube Colgate toothpaste (used the CVS coupon and a $1 manufacturer coupon to create a few cents’ overage), one 99-cent Wet & Wild lip liner (used a $1 off manufacturer coupon), and two 3-oz. Jergens moisturizers ($2.56 each). The Jergens purchase gave me back $5 in ECBs– so I basically got everything for free.
The toothpaste as usual will go to the local food pantry. Most of the makeup I get goes to a local church who outfits disadvantaged girls for prom. As for the moisturizer, I may hold on to that for awhile. I have an idea of creating 10-15 adult gift bags for some charity next Christmas and I think various lotions would got great in some of those.
